(New York, NY) - Tonight, Governor-Elect Andrew Cuomo will attend a reception hosted by Senate President Malcolm A. Smith to kick-off the historic High Speed Rail conference – the first to be held in New York.
State Senate President Malcolm A. Smith is co-hosting the conference with the U.S. High Speed Rail Association. The focus of the conference is to discuss the benefits, opportunities, and challenges of a major new infrastructure project for America. Hear about great progress being made, status of the program, and what is coming next.
Others who will be participating in the two-day conference include: U.S. Secretary of Transportation, Ray LaHood, Former U.S. Secretary of Transportation, Norman Mineta, Deputy Administrator- Federal Railroad Administraton, Karen Rae, Governor David Paterson, Governor Elect Andrew Cuomo, Governor of Pennsylvania Ed Rendell, US Congresswoman Louise Slaughter and US Congressman John Mica.
