“I am grateful that U.S. Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood wasted no time in redirecting the $1.195 billion in High Speed Rail funding rejected by the Governors of Wisconsin and Ohio to 14 other states, including New York.
“While it is unfortunate that the residents of Ohio and Wisconsin will miss out on the job creation and economic growth High Speed Rail is sure to bring, I am pleased that New York State will be receiving up to $7.3 million in additional federal funding to support our critical goal of bringing High Speed Rail to our State.
“I would like to thank Governor-Elect Andrew Cuomo for seizing the opportunity to reach out to Secretary LaHood for the additional funding, and Secretary LaHood for redirecting it in such a timely fashion.”
