Statement From Senate President Malcolm A. Smith

“ Today is a day of celebration and victory for all New Yorkers along

with my colleagues throughout the state.  I would like to congratulate

my friend and our next Attorney General Eric Schneiderman for his

hard-fought victory in the Democratic primary.  I would also like to

applaud Adriano Espaillat, Gustavo Rivera, Michael Gennaris and Tim

Kennedy for their primary wins.

To my partners in the State Senate, Neil Breslin, Velmanette

Montgomery, Kevin Parker, Antonie Thompson, Ruben Diaz, Shirley

Huntley and Toby Stavisky, your commitment and perseverance has been

recognized  by the voters  in your respective districts.

Your success is a testament to the hard work and dedication that you

put into serving your constituents.  Job well done!
