“As a nation, we have the moral responsibility to care for the brave 9/11 rescue workers who so tirelessly participated in the rescue and recovery efforts at Ground Zero and as a result have suffered illness or injury.
“I am pleased that Congress was able to work together to pass this vital legislation to provide much needed funding for medical treatment for these brave men and women.
“I applaud Presided Obama and our Senators, Chuck Schumer and Kristin Gillibrand, and Representatives Carolyn Maloney and Jerrold Nadler, for their commitment to the passage of this critical bill."
