Senator Golden Plans “Support Our Troops” Rally

Brooklyn - State Senator Martin J. Golden (R-C-I, Brooklyn) today announced plans to host his annual “Support Our Troops” rally on Sunday, June 13, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at John Paul Jones Park located at 101st Street and 4th Avenue.

Senator Golden is inviting residents of the community to join with veterans and family members of active servicemen and women in sending a message of support to our troops both home and overseas. The event will surely have patriotism on display, with a ceremony built around support of our Nation and our military.

Senator Golden stated, “Since the War on Terrorism began, I have found it both important and necessary to host a rally in support of our troops each year around Flag Day. We must never forget, as we go about our daily lives, that at this very moment, there are men and women who have put their life on the line so that we may continue to live in freedom. I hope to see a great turnout from our neighborhood as we salute the sacrifices, service and dedication of our United States Armed Forces.”
