Students to Compete to Be Named “Senator for a Day”

Brooklyn- State Senator Marty Golden (R-C-I, 22nd District), is announcing his 8th Annual “State Senator For A Day” essay contest ceremony on Wednesday, May 26, 2010, beginning at 6:30 p.m. at Public School 204, located at 8101-15th Avenue in Brooklyn.
The contests invited local students within grades 6, 7, and 8, throughout District 20, 21, and 22 to submit an essay of no more than 250-words that begins with the phrase, “If I were a State Senator for a Day...”. The winning essays were judged on content and creativity and the finalists will read aloud their essays in front of a panel of judges.
The winner of the contest and their class will be invited to Albany where they will see the legislative process in action.
