Continuing his aggressive efforts to ensure dangerous violent felons are never released into our communities, State Senator Mike Nozzolio is demanding that Governor Paterson deny clemency to Holly Coomber, an inmate serving a 12 1/2 to 25 year sentence at the Bedford Hills Correctional Facility for her role in the violent and cold blooded murder of Donna Guerriri.

“Donna's family and our entire region still mourns her loss and the life of this vibrant young woman, who was a daughter, a wife and a mother of two small children. The pain and suffering that Holly Coomber has caused Donna Guerriri's family can never be erased and cannot and should not be excused,” said Senator Nozzolio.

Holly Coomber was an accomplice to Donna Guerriri’s brutal murder, which occurred during an armed robbery in 1986 in Seneca County. She pled guilty to robbery and assault in the first degree in order to avoid a possible murder conviction in this case.

Senator Nozzolio, recently notified by Donna’s family that Holly Coomber was seeking Executive Clemency, has today called on Governor Paterson to deny the clemency request.

“Holly Coomber was a willing participant in the cold blooded murder of Donna Guerriri. Holly Coomber’s actions and lack of remorse clearly demonstrate that her case does not warrant leniency or compassion of any kind,” said Senator Nozzolio. “It is my firm and unequivocal belief that she should remain in prison without any consideration of clemency or parole.”

“On behalf of Donna Guerriri's family, I demand that justice continue to be served, and that Holly Coomber NOT be released from prison,” concluded Senator Nozzolio.

All who wish to voice their opposition to Holly Coomber’s appeal for clemency should contact Governor Paterson at 1-518-474-8390, visiting http://www.state.ny.us/governor/contact/GovernorContactForm.php, or by writing to:
