Helping those in need

December 10, 2010

Dear Friend:

As we share the joys of the season with friends and family, let’s not overlook those neighbors who are most in need.  Having served in the U.S. Marine Corps, I am reminded of those brave men and women in our Armed Forces who have spent the holidays away from their homes and families.  Many soldiers have returned home to Long Island and are suffering the hardships of this difficult economy.  They have my utmost respect and deserve our support and encouragement, especially during the holiday season.

This year, my District Office in the Village of Babylon is a collection site for toys for the children of soldiers from the Fighting 69th Infantry Regiment.  In the spirit of  this holiday season, why not add a gift to your list for the son or daughter of a local soldier?   Please bring your donations for children of all age groups for the Fighting 69th Infantry Regiment to:
 Senator Owen H. Johnson’s Office
 23-24 Argyle Square
 Babylon, NY  11702
 (631) 669-9200
(Immediately west of the Babylon Village Hall, north side of Montauk Highway)

There are many other local charities and food banks here on Long Island hoping to collect enough for the many people who are in desperate need.  Your contribution to the charity of your choice will make its way into the heart of someone in need.

I wish you and your family a safe and joyous holiday season and a very prosperous New Year.

Sincerely,

Owen H. Johnson
