Senator Owen H. Johnson presented a Legislative Resolution to Marc Horowitz, Library Director, commemorating the 50th Anniversary of the North Babylon Public Library. The celebration took place on October 3, 2010.
The Library’s History:
In 1969, the North Babylon Public Library began in a small store at the Sunset City Shopping Center in North Babylon. The first Library Director was Andrew Ippilito. In 1968, the library moved into its current building at 815 Deer Park Avenue. It began as a repository for books and has expanded its role to help improve the quality of life in the community, providing reading programs for all ages as well as workshops and classes for town residents.
