Senator Owen H. Johnson was pleased to join Nancy Donohue and her family at an annual meeting of the Sagtikos Manor Historical Society to honor her and acknowledge her many accomplishments as President of the organization.  The event took place at Captain Bill's Restaurant in Bay Shore on January 23, 2010.

For the past twenty-two years, Nancy's volunteer work has been instrumental in continuing the on-going restoration of Sagtikos Manor.  Because of her hard work and dedication, thousands of visitors continue to be able to enjoy the rich history of the Manor at the many events which take place on the premises.

In addressing members at the luncheon, Nancy said, "I wish to thank all the volunteers, docents, officers and members of the Historical Society.  They have made my tenure as President extremely rewarding and pleasure-filled."  Nancy said of the Manor, "I have always treated the Manor with the respect that such a historic structure deserved.  I truly feel that I am leaving the Manor representing a grand reminder of the glory of its golden age."
