Remembering the Families of Flight 587
New York State Senator Reverend Ruben Diaz, Chair of the New York State Senate Puerto Rican/Latino Caucus memorializes the 9th Anniversary of American Airlines Flight 587 deadly crash in Belle Harbor, Queens.
“On behalf of my colleagues, I ask all New Yorkers to remember the lives we lost from Flight 587 that was bound for the Dominican Republic’s Santo Domingo nine years ago today.
This day is especially painful for New York’s Dominican community and the people in the Rockaways. And so, we need to remind them that every year on November 12th, New Yorkers will continue to honor the lives of the 265 people on board Flight 587 and the five people who were on the ground and were killed from that plane crash.
We will continue to offer our heartfelt condolences and prayers to the grief stricken relatives and friends of those who perished that day.”
