Senator Díaz Announces That Libraries In His District Are Recipients of Construction Grants
Albany, NY -State Senator Rubén Díaz announced today that two libraries in his district are the recipients of construction grants totaling $240,000.
The two libraries are the New York Public Library-Woodstock Branch located at 761 East 160th Street, Bronx, NY and the New York Public Library-Hunts Point Branch located at 877 Southern Boulevard, Bronx NY. “I am thrilled that these two libraries have been awarded these much-needed capital funds,” stated Senator Díaz.
These grants will be used for replacement of the roof, the fire alarm system, and the lower roof, exterior facade restoration, interior and exterior renovations, HVAC and electrical repair. These awards are made possible by a $14 million capital fund appropriation in the 2009 State Budget for construction and renovation of public libraries and public library systems in New York State.
“These libraries provide wonderful services to my constituents and I am glad to see that their needs have been recognized by New York State,” he continued.
