Senator Reverend Ruben Diaz Denounces Soundview Shooting
New York State Senator Reverend Ruben Diaz (D-Bronx) released the following statement about the two homicides early this morning in the Soundview Houses on Randall Avenue today:
“My thoughts and prayers are with the families of the two men who were killed this morning in my district, and my prayers and thoughts go to the families who live in the Soundview Houses and woke up to this horrible news. I also remain concerned for the reporter, who according to the National Press Photographers Association, was struck in the face and hospitalized at the homicide scene today.
We are deeply distressed at the violence that continues to terrorize our communities.
I remain committed to working with community leaders and the New York Police Department to get guns off the streets and to make our neighborhoods safe places to live and raise our families.”
