Senator Reverend Rubén Díaz, Sr. designates
Lillian Rodriguez-Lopez as a 2010 Woman of Distinction
Albany, NY - State Senator Rubén Díaz, Sr. will honor Ms. Lillian Rodriguez-Lopez as a 2010 Woman of Distinction today with a Senate Resolution when the Senate convenes at 3:00 p.m. The Annual Women of Distinction celebration is a time to honor outstanding women whose contributions have enriched the quality of life in their respective communities.
“I am proud and honored to nominate Ms. Lillian Rodriguez-Lopez as a 2010 Woman of Distinction,” stated Senator Díaz. “I can think of no one who is more deserving than she to receive this honor,” he continued.
Ms. Rodriguez-Lopez serves as the President of the Hispanic Federation, a non-profit membership organization serving more than 90 Latino health and human services agencies in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut and Pennsylvania. Since 1996, when she first joined the Federation as Vice-President, the association has increased its organizational capacity to serve an ever-growing network of member agencies and respond to the Latino community’s needs both locally, and across the country.
“Ms. Rodriguez-Lopez has served the Latino community, and indeed the entire community, with her dedication, expertise, and vision. That is why she is so deserving of this award,” concluded Senator Díaz.
Today’s celebration will also include a ceremony at 5:30 p.m. in Hearing Room B of the Legislative Office Building and a reception at 6:30 p.m. in the Well, also in the LOB.
