Statement by Senator Rev. Rubén Díaz, Sr.

“Let me set the record straight once and for all.

“Senator Kevin Parker’s use of obscene language directed toward me did not take place ‘member to member’ as he claimed.

“It happened in the Senate Chambers, publicly in full view of other Senators and several Senate staff.

“First Kevin Parker used an obscenity and then he accused me of being a liar when he suggested that the conversation took place only between the two of us.

“Then Kevin Parker claimed that he was just “doing his job” as Majority Whip.

“I wonder if Kevin Parker’s job description includes the use of profanity and threats to other people?

“If Kevin Parker is such a tough guy who is prone to these outbursts, he should be man enough to apologize to the staff who witnessed his tirade and tell the truth about last night’s events in Senate Chambers.”

As I stated last night “Senator Parker was saying eff this, eff that.  In front of the ladies.  It’s uncalled for. If I want to vote no on something nobody is going to tell me to eff me.  What are we, babies?”
