Senator Hassell-Thompson Participates in Press Conference Accepting Final Report from MWBE Task Force

Senator Ruth Hassell-Thompson said: “Since 1985, I have been working for the advancement of MWBEs, and I am proud to be part of this moment in New York State’s history. We are keeping a promise that we made to provide equal opportunities for minority and women owned businesses in New York State. These recommendations by the MWBE Task Force will help strengthen legislation to enforce Article 15-A of the Executive Law and emerging management legislation. I would like to thank the Governor and Paul Williams, the Chairman of the MWBE Task Force that provided this comprehensive report. New York State is finally on its way towards providing true equal opportunity in garnering the full participation of all members of society in its procurement of contracts.”
