Senator honored as good friend of agriculture in New York State
For the 11th year in a row, Senator Steve Saland (R,I,C Poughkeepsie), has been named by the New York State Farm Bureau to its Circle of Friends.
The “Circle of Friends” honor is awarded to New York State legislators who have shown strong support of bills that address the challenges faced by family farms in New York. Since 1911 the Farm Bureau has worked to encourage efficient production, better marketing, fair legislation, and a safe food supply and work environment for New York’s farms. Senator Saland has received the honor each year since its inception.
“Agriculture is the number one industry in New York and the farms in Duchess and Columbia Counties are an extremely important part of the economy and the social fabric of the Hudson Valley,” said Senator Saland. I am most honored to once again be honored by the Farm Bureau as a friend of agriculture for my support of legislation intended to help sustain and improve family farms in our region and across the State.”
