Senator is Honored by United Hebrew of New Rochelle and the NY Association of Homes and Services for the Aging
On Friday, April 30th, Senator Suzi Oppenheimer (D-Mamaroneck) was presented with the “Partners in Quality” Award by the New York Association of Homes and Services for the Aging (NYAHSA) and United Hebrew of New Rochelle. The award recognizes the Senator’s commitment and dedication on behalf senior citizens throughout her district and the state.
In accepting the award, Senator Oppenheimer noted that she is a frequent visitor to United Hebrew and enjoys spending time with the residents and staff of that special place. Acknowledging the difficult economic environment, the Senator said that she is fighting in Albany “to make sure that state spending cuts are made prudently, with as little impact on quality nursing home and home rehabilitative care as possible.”
“For there is perhaps no greater measure of a society than how it treats the most vulnerable amongst us – the children, the elderly and the disabled. Let us work together to ensure that these citizens continue to get the services and care that they need and deserve,” said Senator Oppenheimer.
Senator Jeff Klein (D-Bronx-Westchester) and Assemblyman George Latimer (D-Rye/Mamaroneck/New Rochelle) were also honored at the event.
