Applications Now Being Accepted
Senator Bill Larkin (R-C, Cornwall-on-Hudson) wants to remind those individuals who have a pre-existing health condition but do not have insurance coverage that applications are now being accepted through the New York Bridge Plan. This new insurance plan covers individuals who have a pre-existing medical condition but have not had insurance coverage for the past six months. To be eligible, you must also be a New York State resident and a US citizen or legal resident.
"This is a unique opportunity for those individuals who need help paying their medical bills," said Senator Larkin. "I urge everyone who is eligible to apply as soon as possible for coverage. Enrollment is on a first-come, first-served basis so if you qualify, submit an application immediately."
The NY Bridge Plan is an Exclusive Provider Option (EPO), which means that you must use doctors and health care providers who are in the GHI EPO network, except in cases of emergency or when care is not available through a participating provider. A list of providers is available at the web site and phone number below.
Under the NY Bridge Plan, your eligibility is not based on income. Premium rates are standardized depending on where you live:
* Upstate New York counties -$362 per month
* Downstate New York counties - $421 per month (Includes Orange & Ulster County)
