The Long Gray Line Marches to Albany

 State Senate Honors West Point

Senator Bill Larkin (R-C, Cornwall-on-Hudson), a retired Lieutenant Colonel who served 23 years on active duty in the United States Army, today hosted the fifty-eighth annual "West Point Legislative Day" at the New York State Capitol in Albany.

"Every year it is my honor to bring the officers and cadets of West Point to Albany to showcase the importance of the military to the New York State Legislature. It is a chance for the Senate and Assembly to recognize the contributions and sacrifices these men and women have made and will continue to make on behalf of their country," said Senator Larkin. "I cannot adequately express my gratitude to those who have chosen to serve their country, particularly now, during a time of war. It takes exceptional character and fortitude to volunteer during a time of war and know that your first assignment will put you directly on the front lines in our nation's fight against those forces who wish to harm us," said Larkin. "These cadets are truly unique. Their love for their country sets them apart from other college students and instills faith in our future generations."

This year's ceremonies mark the fifty-eighth year the State Legislature has honored the United States Military Academy at West Point.
