(Tarrytown) - Senator Andrea Stewart-Cousins (D/WF/ I – 35th District) praised President Obama for selecting the Tappan Zee Bridge as one of fourteen infrastructure projects nationwide for expedited federal review and approval. She also thanked Governor Cuomo for advocating the need for this project to the Federal Government. Her statement is below.
“The Tappan Zee Bridge is a prime example of the need to revitalize our aging infrastructure, so I would like to thank President Obama and Governor Cuomo for helping to expedite this process,” said Senator Stewart-Cousins. “At a time when New Yorkers are looking to get back to work, the rebuilding project will create thousands of jobs here in Westchester County and play a key role in our State’s long term economic prosperity. As we wrestle with the costs of this important project, I am optimistic now that the Federal government has put it on the fast track for approval.”
