Senator Charles J. Fuschillo, Jr. (R-Merrick) recently visited Chatterton Elementary School in Merrick to thank students for participating in his annual “Extend the Holidays” toy drive.
“Extend the Holidays” is an annual toy drive Senator Fuschillo organizes for the benefit of children in Winthrop Hospital. The toys collected by the Chatterton students will be used by Winthrop Hospital throughout the year to give their child patients the experience and joy of receiving the gift of a new toy.
“It’s wonderful to see these students working to help other children who are going through tough times. There will be smiles on the faces of children in Winthrop Hospital throughout the year thanks to the hard work of Chatterton’s students and staff. They should be proud of the job they did and I thank them for their help,” said Senator Fuschillo.
