Senate Passes Fuschillo Resolution Honoring Eagle Scout Salvatore Curasi of North Bellmore

Charles J. Fuschillo Jr.

February 7, 2011

State Senator Charles J. Fuschillo, Jr. (R-Merrick) announced that the New York State Senate recently passed a legislative resolution he sponsored honoring North Bellmore resident Salvatore Curasi for attaining the rank of Eagle Scout.

"Only a select few ever attain the distinguished rank of Eagle Scout. After many years of hard work, dedication, and commitment to service, Salvatore has now earned a place among that elite group. I congratulate him on earning this honor and am pleased that his achievement was recognized by the New York State Senate,” said Senator Fuschillo.

Salvatore, a member of Troop 577, attained the rank of Eagle Scout after many years of hard work and completing an Eagle Scout project. For his project, Salvatore refurbished a garden at Tackapusha Museum and Preserve. Salvatore organized a team of 43 volunteers to replace ledger boards, install educational signs and an information box, and construct six flower boxes around the preserve’s lampposts which were later filled with flowers.

With the Senate passage of the legislative resolution, Salvatore’s name and achievement will forever be part of the New York State Senate’s official record.
