Senator Charles J. Fuschillo, Jr. (8th Senate District) and Assemblyman David G. McDonough (19th Assembly District) recently congratulated Wantagh High School student Gabrielle Soethout on having her art displayed in the State Capitol.
Senator Fuschillo and Assemblyman McDonough welcomed Gabrielle and her parents, Mike and Lisa Soethout, to Albany and joined them in viewing her project, "Tree of Life," during its exhibit in the Legislative Office Building.
Gabrielle’s art was on display as part of the New York State Art Teachers Association’s annual Legislative Student Art Exhibition. Each spring, the Association arranges to have the work of aspiring young artists from across the state displayed in Albany, where it can be viewed by the public.
"This is a great honor for a great young artist,” said Senator Fuschillo. “Legislators, staff members, and visitors across the state were able to see Gabrielle’s talents on display in Albany. I am pleased that I was able to join with Gabrielle and her family in celebrating her accomplishment,” said Senator Fuschillo.
