New York State Senator Charles J. Fuschillo, Jr. (R-Merrick) and Assemblyman David McDonough (R-North Merrick) recently sponsored a hurricane & emergency preparedness seminar in Merrick.
The program was conducted by the Nassau County Office of Emergency Management and provided information about the steps families should take to prepare themselves in case an emergency arises. Residents were offered information about what supplies to have available, how to make a “go kit,” how to make a family emergency communications plan, and what to do if a hurricane or other emergency occurs.
Residents who were unable to attend the meeting but would like more information on emergency preparedness can call Senator Fuschillo’s office at 516-882-0630, Assemblyman McDonough’s office at 409-2070, or visit the Nassau County Office of Emergency Management’s website at www.nassaucountyny.gov/agencies/oem/index.html.
