Senator Charles J. Fuschillo, Jr. (R-Merrick) today visited Chatterton Elementary School in Merrick to congratulate Mrs. Kremberg’s 5th grade class for being selected as winners in the New York State Senate’s 2011 Earth Day Poster Contest.

The statewide contest, themed “Reduce, Reuse, Recycle” helped to promote awareness among students in grades K through 6 about the importance of recycling and reducing waste to protect the environment. Mrs. Kremberg’s class was selected as one of the winning entries out of schools from across the state.

“This program allows students to learn, in a fun way, about the importance of recycling, reducing waste, and environmental protection. It’s great to see these students take such an interest in protecting the environment, and I congratulate them on a job well done,” said Senator Fuschillo.
