With Long Island in the middle of hurricane season, New York State Senator Charles J. Fuschillo, Jr. (R-Merrick) is inviting local residents to an emergency preparedness seminar he is sponsoring on July 27th.
The program will be held at the Seaford Library, located at 2234 Jackson Avenue in Seaford, at 7 pm on Wednesday, July 27th. Representatives from the Nassau County Office of Emergency Management, the American Red Cross, and LIPA will teach residents how they should prepare their families and their homes to deal with an emergency, what supplies to have available, how to make a “go kit,” and what to do if a hurricane or other emergency occurs.
“Being prepared is the best way to deal with a hurricane or other emergency. There are a number of simple steps each of us should take that will go a long way towards keeping our families and homes safe. I encourage residents to attend this meeting and learn from the experts about how to be ready,” said Senator Fuschillo.
Residents who would like more information about the program can call Senator Fuschillo’s office at 516-882-0630.
