Senator Charles J. Fuschillo, Jr. (R-Merrick) recently visited Albany Avenue Elementary School in Lindenhurst to thank students for helping him collect food for those in need.
The students collected several boxes of non-perishable food and other items as part of Senator Fuschillo’s food drive. The food collected by the Albany Avenue students, along with the rest of the food collected through the program, will be donated to Long Island Cares, which delivers food to over 500 food pantries, soup kitchens, shelters, and other assistance organizations.
“The students at Albany Avenue did an outstanding job. The food they collected will go a long way towards helping families across Long Island who have unfortunately fallen on tough times. I thank them for working so hard to help those in need,” said Senator Fuschillo.
