Senator Fuschillo’s Independence Day Message
Charles J. Fuschillo Jr.
July 4, 2011
"Today, we celebrate the birth of our country and honor the ideal which makes America the greatest of all nations; freedom.
Freedom is what makes America a beacon of hope for so many in the world. It brought families from all over the globe to our shores in search of a better life. Right now, people in other countries are fighting and dying for the freedoms we’ve been privileged to have for so very long.
We must never forget that these freedoms do not come free. Generations of American men and women defended them against tyranny, oppression, and evil. American servicemen and women continue to fight for our freedoms today, spending Independence Day away from their loved ones so that we can be with ours.
As we join with family and friends to enjoy parades, barbeques, fireworks, and other festivities, please take a moment to remember all those who fought, and are still fighting, to protect the very freedoms we celebrate and cherish today."
