NEW YORK -- Today, State Senator Daniel Squadron released the following statement after the City removed barricades around Wall and Broad Streets at the urging of Senator Squadron, Congressman Nadler, Speaker Silver, Borough President Stringer, and Council Member Chin:
Last week, along with my colleagues, I set up a walk-through with Deputy Mayor Wolfson to show the City firsthand the community's concerns regarding barricades. The City deserves credit for heeding our call and removing the barricades around Wall and Broad Streets.
In a community that has done so much to rebuild and grow, the barricades had a high quality of life cost for residents and businesses. Now, the stakeholders must continue to work to address the other quality of life concerns.
