Senator Carlucci Confirms New
Superintendent
(Albany, NY) Senator David Carlucci (D-Rockland) confirmed the nomination of Joseph A. D’Amico today as Superintendent of the New York State Police.
Superintendent D’Amico is from West Nyack and has had a long and distinguished career of 27 years with the New York City Police Department, rising to the prestigious rank of Deputy Chief. From 2007 until his appointment, Superintendent D’Amico served as Chief Investigator in the Office of the New York State Attorney General.
“I would like to congratulate Superintendent D’Amico on his Senate confirmation as Superintendent of the New York State Police,” Senator Carlucci said. “The men and women of the New York State Police, who serve with honor and integrity, deserve to have a leader they can depend on, that they can look up to and who is as dedicated as they are to promoting peace and order and protecting our community. I commend Governor Cuomo for his nomination of Superintendent D’Amico. It is an honor to have Superintendent D’Amico as a resident of Rockland, and I wish him and his family the best of luck in this new endeavor.”
The New York State Police is an organization comprised of about 3,200 troopers and about 700 investigators who have dedicated their lives to protecting and serving the people of New York.
