(Greenwood Lake, NY) Senator David Carlucci (D-Rockland/Orange) met with Rob Reiner to discuss the production of a film Reiner is producing in Greenwood Lake and the benefits of production in New York State, in particular the New York State Film Production Tax Credit Program.

“The New York State Film Production Tax Credit Program was developed to incentivize film producers to come to New York State to shoot their movies, and it is working,”  Senator Carlucci said.  “I am pleased that Rob Reiner has chosen Greenwood Lake to produce his latest film because it is creating local jobs and boosting the economy in the community.  When films are produced here, local businesses win.“

The New York State Film Production tax credit program provides qualifying film and television productions a 30% credit for qualified production expenditures.  All eligible productions shot in New York may qualify for this program.  In August 2010 new legislation extended the program through 2014, allocating $420 million per year.
