State Senator David J. Valesky (D-Oneida) has been named co-chair of the New York State Legislative Sportsmen’s Caucus. The bi-partisan group, made up of legislators from both the Assembly and Senate, focuses on legislative issues concerning sportsmen and women, including fishing, hunting and other outdoor-related activities.
“I look forward to continuing to work with sportsmen and women in New York State as co-chair of the Caucus,” Senator Valesky said. “In addition to providing recreational opportunities for more than one million people in the state, these activities contribute significantly to the Upstate economy.”
The group, formed in 2004, advances a mission to support sportsmen’s policy, by recognizing the importance of hunting, fishing and other outdoor-related industries and activities, and supporting their maintenance and growth through legislative policy.
