Join NYS Senator Eric Adams and Other Elected Officials on March 18th, 2011, to Oppose Senior Center Closures

On Friday, March 18th, 2011, at 11:00AM, NYS Senator Eric Adams will hold a press conference to decry cuts to Title XX funding. Without the continuation of Title XX funds assisting New York City senior centers, 110 Senior Centers will have to close as of April 1, 2011. Title XX funds are responsible for making up 25% of all funding for NYC senior centers. Without this vital funding, between 8,000 – 10,000 senior citizens will be without a senior center, and the many benefits (such as meals, transportation, social services, etc) that these centers provide.
