On Saturday, April 30, 2011, NYS Senator Eric Adams joined Prospect-Lefferts Gardens neighbors and shopkeepers to clean up trash, garbage and litter in an effort to help beautify the community. Between the hours of 11:00am and 4:00pm, several areas in this neighborhood were cleaned up. In light of Earth Day and in response to the recent illegal dumping incidences in the community, this neighborhood clean up will encourage others to be responsible and have an appreciation of the community in which they live.
Senator Adams’ stated: “I commend the neighbors and business owners in my district who decided to take on this initiative to clean up areas in Prospect Lefferts Gardens. It is important that as citizens we take responsibility of our community and state. This is a great way to include everyone in the effort to clean-up our community, a project that I hope will continue in the district."
