New York, NY – Senator Gustavo Rivera released the following statement today in recognition of Dominican Heritage Month:
“I am excited and honored to join with my fellow Bronxites in celebrating and acknowledging Dominican Heritage Month. The Dominican-American community is a vibrant and important part of the fabric of New York City and New York State.
New York State is proud to be home to the largest concentration of Dominicans, and the Bronx is home to 34% of that population. I am proud to be representing this growing community and acknowledge their contributions to the social and economic fabric of my district. Through the creation of thousands of jobs, new businesses, and their robust representation of the student body at our educational institutions, Dominicans continue to demonstrate their commitment to the prosperity of the Bronx, New York City, and the State of New York."
