Senator Gustavo Rivera (D, WF-Bronx) was joined by more than 100 community members to celebrate the official opening of the 33rd Senate District Office on Wednesday, May 4, 2011. The office is located at 2432 Grand Concourse, Bronx NY in Suite 506.
“I am excited that the 33rd Senate District now has a permanent office in a location that is not only central, but easily accessible by public transportation,” said Senator Rivera. “I was glad to see such high turnout at the office open house and I hope that more and more of my constituents will stop or call the office. This office is as much theirs as it is mine and I am going to work to make sure that the residents of the 33rd district know they have a place to come to share both their ideas and concerns. So much of why I ran for office was to ensure that the constituents of my district were truly being served and represented.”
The district office opened officially on Wednesday, May 4th and the phone number for the office will be 718-933-2034. Neighbors on the 5th floor of the Poe Building include Bronx Jewish Federation Service Center, City Marshall office and Catholic Home among others.
Office hours will now be from 10AM to 8PM on Mondays and from 10AM to 6PM Tuesday through Friday. If there are constituents who cannot come during scheduled office hours, the office will open by appointment. Previous to the office opening, mobile office hours were being held at Community Board offices and offices of other elected officials in the district.
