The New York State Library reached out to me this week stating FEMA will be holding special meetings for public libraries and other not-for-profit organizations who suffered from Hurricane Irene. In Schenectady County, the meeting will be held on Sept. 27th at 1 p.m. at South Schenectady Fire Department, 6 Old Mariaville Road, Rotterdam. In Montgomery County, the briefing will be held on Sept. 28th at 1 p.m. at the Montgomery County Courthouse in Fonda. My office is reaching out to the Walter Elwood Museum and Old Fort Johnson about these meetings so those groups can see if they are eligible for FEMA assistance. Libraries affected by the flooding should also reach out to the Division of Library Development at www.nysl.nysed.gov/libdev
