Jack M. Martins

February 2, 2011

State Senator Jack M. Martins attended the chartering of the Great Neck Kiwanis on January 30. The club celebrated it’s inauguration with a special meeting, presentation of charter and dinner to commemorate the event.

The objectives of Kiwanis are: to give primacy to the human and spiritual rather than to the material values of life. To promote the adoption and the application of higher social, business, and professional standards. To develop, by precept and example, a more intelligent, aggressive, and serviceable citizenship. To provide, through Kiwanis clubs, a practical means to form enduring friendships, to render altruistic service, and to build better communities. To cooperate in creating and maintaining that sound public opinion and high idealism which make possible the increase of righteousness, justice, patriotism, and goodwill.

The officers of the Great Neck Kiwanis are: Joan Lazaunik, President Jeigh Duran, President-Elect Rosita George Williams, Secretary Maritza Gonzalez and Treasurer Shalom Cohen, Public Relations & Communications.

“It was a real honor to be a guest at the Great Neck Kiwanis chartering ceremony, said Senator Martins. “Kiwanis does truly outstanding work and makes a positive difference in communities and in the lives of everyday people. I really look forward to working with Great Neck Kiwanis and being an active part of their programs.”
