On Saturday morning, September 24, Senator Jack M. Martins sponsored a car seat safety day in Wilson Park in Mineola. New York State Troopers were on hand to correctly install car safety seats in the back seats of vehicles and provided ones to those who didn't have them. Over 20 vehicles came to be fitted properly.
"It's so important that we do as much as we can to maximize the safety of children riding in the back seats of motor vehicles. I want to thank the parents and grandparents who came out for this important measure. I also want to thank the State Troopers for their time and exptertise," Senator Martins said. "Anything we can do to promote safety is well worth the time and effort."
