DC37 Union representative and Elmont resident Magaly Polo visited with Senator Jack M. Martins this past week to discuss state budget issues, labor matters and creating jobs for working men and women in Albany. Senator Martins welcomed Magaly to the State Capitol, visited with her, and took her on a tour of the New York State Senate chamber before legislative session.
"Magaly is an outstanding community leader who has helped working men and women in the labor movement for many years. Locally, she is an inspiration to countless families in Elmont for her work on neighborhood issues, PTA and her advocacy for Haiti. For me, I couldn't have been more moved by the selfless work Magaly performed in the aftermath of the Haiti earthquake by providing critically needed services on board a U.S. hospital ship during the medical relief operations. She is a friend and someone who is always there for our greater community. She is a leader who makes a difference each and every day," said Senator Martins.
