Senator Jack M. Martins sat down with students with the "Campaign for Summer Jobs" this past week. The campaign promotes Summer job opportunities for young people that emphasizes creating and establishing small business as well as running a business. The campaign has been a great success for a over a decade.
Senator Martins hosted one of the groups and held a listen session with them to hear what's on their minds and hopes for the future. During the session, Senator Martins discussed job opportunities not only in small business with the group, but pointed to the sciences and emerging technologies. "Listening to our young people and hearing their opinions and thoughts motivates me in the work as I do as Senator. These young people are our future leaders of tomorrow. They bring unique perspective to the greater conversation that we don't always hear as local leaders in the community. I can't thank them enough for dropping by and talking with me," he said.
