On Sunday morning, May 1, under beautiful skies, hundreds participated in Helen's Walk, a stroll through Sands Point Preserve to benefit the Helen Keller National Center, which offers invaluable services to the blind and deaf.
Senator Jack M. Martins, whose Senate District encompasses Port Washington and Sands Point, participated in the walk. The Senator walked with two of his four daughters, Kaitlin and Vanessa, as well as Nassau County Legislator Wayne Wink. "It was my honor to walk for the Helen Keller National Center. The center does incredible things and I was proud to support it. It was beautiful weather and a great turnout," he said.
