Senator Jack M. Martins visited Barry Tech in Westbury recently to learn about the programs offered to the students. The Joseph M. Barry Career and Technical Center allows students to learn skills to enhance their high school experience. The school, which is a part of Nassau BOCES, prepares juniors and seniors for college and for the workforce by providing them with specialized training in a vast array of fields.
Senator Martins toured the school, visiting the cosmetology, graphic design, television, cooking, veterinary science, welding, piloting and forensic science classes.
“The amount of courses and the training Barry Tech offers in extremely impressive. They help prepare students for college and the work force by teaching them skills that can be applied after high school. The students are receiving a great educational experience,” said Senator Martins.
Barry Tech is a Nassau BOCES 21st Century High School.
