Senator Jack M. Martins was back in the Elmont community again continuing his listening tour this past Saturday. This time, Senator Martins visited with parents and leaders of the Elmont Soccer Club. Elmont Soccer President Richard "Kiki" DeBrosse greeted Senator Martins and led him on a tour of the games Elmont children were playing. Games for children ages 4 and up were being played at the Dutch Broadway School athletic fields. Five games were in action during Senator Martins visit.
Parents spoke with the Senator about the Elmont community and their hopes for revitalization, tax relief and positive athletic programs like Elmont Soccer being accessible to Elmont's young people.
"When you look at the parent participation and all the coaches and volunteers that make Elmont Soccer work, it's truly inspiring. I want to thank Elmont Soccer for the wonderful welcome today and their hospitality. The highlight for me was watching our 4 and 5-year-old soccer stars dribble and score," said Senator Martins.
