Senator Martins Visits Long Island Conservatory

Senator Jack M. Martins visited the Long Island Conservatory in Albertson where he met with President Min Sum Kim and Executive Director Patricia Schust.

The conservatory offers music programs as well as other programs such as an Intel science research program. The conservatory's mission is to "create a music-based-program of education and performance that will empower our community learners in an atmosphere of mutual respect and trust. Every student will be motivated and challenged to take part, learn, grow, and accomplish academic, social, and vocational goals."

While Senator Martins visited the conservatory, he met 19-year-old gifted pianist Vessilin Ninov, who began playing when he was 4 and has been a student at the conservatory.

"The Long Island Conservatory is doing extraordinary work nurturing the talents of those who are gifted both artistically and academically. There are some talented individuals who are also putting in the hard work and dedication necessary to sharpen their skills. I applaud the instructors and staff as well as the students for their efforts in enriching the arts and science," Senator Martins said.
