ONEONTA, 09/11/11 – State Senator James L. Seward (R/C/I-Oneonta) today announced the New York State Insurance Department Mobile Command Center (MCC) will be in Greene County and Schoharie County to assist residents and business owners with questions they may have following recent storms and flooding.

“While touring storm damaged towns many of those who have lost everything expressed the need for some help in contacting their insurance companies,” said Senator Seward. “Financial Services Superintendent Benjamin Lawsky joined me in meeting with many storm victims and I want to thank him for his quick response to their needs by dispatching the mobile command center.”

The mobile command center is a 50-foot long van equipped with high-speed internet access and telephone equipment that is being used to help property owners file claims and contact their insurance companies. Insurance Department personnel will also be available to answer consumers' questions.

The mobile command center will be in the following locations:

MONDAY, September 12
491 County Route 12, Windham.
Hours: 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. (staff will leave at 7 p.m. if no activity).

TUESDAY, September 13
Main Street, Middleburgh. MCC will park to the left of the NBT Bank and chiropractor's office and across the street from the post office.
