NORTH RIVERDALE, BRONX, N.Y. – Senator Jeffrey D. Klein, (D-Bronx/ Westchester) announced today that his “Stay Safe” initiative will be part of the P.S. 81 Fun Fest on Sunday Oct. 23rd
The Stay Safe program, which is co-sponsored by New York Life, provides free identification of children containing their biometric information, photo and fingerprints to be used in case they go missing.
In addition to this service, Senator Klein’s staff assists parents in signing up for the NY Alert email notification system, so they can know when a potentially dangerous sexual predator moves into their neighborhood. This service, the result of landmark legislation Senator Klein had signed into law last year, is free to the public.
“I’m proud to once again bring my Stay Safe initiative to Riverdale” Senator Klein said. “It’s always been my belief that parents have a right to know this information and, with the help of New York Life, we’re making sure every parent is prepared.”
This comes of the heels of the program's successful night at the October Parent’s Association Meeting of P.S. 81, where more than two dozen residents made use of the “Stay Safe” initiative's services.
