NYS Senator Joseph P. Addabbo's Statement on the 10th Anniversary of the 9/11 Attacks

Joseph P. Addabbo Jr

September 13, 2011

Queens, NY, September 12, 2011 -- As I attended the 9/11 memorials over the weekend throughout my district, I joined those who prayed, cried and reflected over the attacks on our city, our nation, our civilians that took place 10 years ago.

I prayed for all those lives lost, including the approximately 100 in my district, and the families they left behind.

I prayed for those who were saved and the redefined heroes that saved them.

I prayed for those who still either suffer or witness the health issues that followed after the attacks on the towers.

I prayed for those who guard us each and every day against further acts of terrorism.

I could not ignore how that date 10 years ago changed our lives forever, but that in honor of all who were impacted by the tragedy, we stand united together as proud Americans living in the greatest country in the world.
