Statement by Senator Addabbo on Passage of Rent Regulations

Queens, NY, June 28, 2011 -- NYS Senator Joseph P. Addabbo, Jr. (D-Queens), released the following statement on the passage of Rent Regulations last week before the end of legislative session: 

I am grateful to have been given the opportunity to extend and slightly enhance the rent regulations and protections for our tenants. 

At all times during the negotiations, despite the scare tactics used against the people in my district and the repeated misinformed, annoying  phone calls that were made to them, I continued my efforts to consistently support the tenants. The tenants were not at risk of losing their apartments or their protections while the legislation was being discussed.
